The Network and Security Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the organization’s network and security infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient connectivity across all locations and systems.


This role focuses on protecting network resources from internal and external threats, maintaining high availability and performance, and enforcing security controls, standards, and policies in line with organizational and industry best practices.


The Network and Security Administrator works closely with IT teams to monitor network performance, respond to security incidents, support system upgrades, and ensure continuous operation of critical services. 

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s network and security infrastructure
  • Configure, manage, and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks
  • Monitor network performance and availability to ensure stable and efficient connectivity across all locations
  • Implement and enforce network security controls, policies, and procedures
  • Protect network resources from internal and external security threats
  • Monitor security logs, alerts, and system events; investigate and respond to security incidents
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and security hardening
  • Troubleshoot network and security issues and provide timely resolutions
  • Support user access management, permissions, and authentication controls
  • Ensure backup, recovery, and business continuity for network services
  • Document network configurations, security procedures, and incident reports
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams and external vendors when required
  • Support network expansion, upgrades, and new system

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in network administration and IT security
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN technologies
  • Experience configuring and managing firewalls, routers, switches, and access points
  • Good understanding of network security principles, including IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and access control
  • Ability to monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments and basic Linux administration
  • Experience with network monitoring and security tools (logs, alerts, incident response)
  • Understanding of IT security policies, procedures, and compliance standards
  • Ability to respond to and investigate security incidents
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work across multiple locations and support business operations or Higher
